C3AMS Holds a Webinar on Food Wastes Recovery in a Circular Economy

The Center  for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Studies (C3AMS),of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, will on Wednesday, May 24, 2023  hold a webinar on food waste recovery in a circular economy as part of their Climate Smart Agriculture Practices Awareness Programs.

The webinar, which would take place  from 3:00 to 4:30 pm (West Central Africa Time), will focus on the importance of reducing food wastes and promoting a circular economy in agriculture. The event will be hosted on Google Meet, and interested participants can join via the link https://meet.google.com/xhf:qecb-gyf.

Food waste is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, and reducing it is essential for achieving climate change mitigation goals.

The webinar aims to educate participants on the benefits of implementing circular economy practices in agriculture, including reducing food waste and promoting sustainable production and consumption patterns.

The Climate Smart Agriculture Series is an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture practices that are resilient to climate change. The series cover a range of topics related to climate-smart agriculture, including soil health, water management, and agro-forestry, use of science and technology in weather forecasts to mention but few.

Professor Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, Acting President of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST) and Engr. Nwachinemere Emeka, Chief Executive Officer, Kitovu Technology Company and United Nations 2020 STI Winner would speak at the event while  Michael Mozie, Lead, Biomass and Bioresources Working group, C3AMS would be the moderator.
