The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), in collaboration with PUSH Africa, has
graduated the second cohort of participants in the Professional Diploma in Healthcare Assistant
and Caregiving Training, while welcoming the fourth cohort into the programme.

The graduation and opening ceremony brought together graduands, new participants,
facilitators, healthcare professionals, representatives of AUST and PUSH Africa, and other
stakeholders as they celebrate the achievements of the graduating cohort and the
commencement of a new training cycle.

Representing the President of AUST, Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, at the epoch-making
event, Dr Prisca Nneka Onuoha-Iroakazi, Coordinator, Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) Programmes, congratulated the new graduands and encouraged them to apply the
knowledge and practical skills acquired during the programme with compassion, integrity and
professionalism.

She highlighted the importance of healthcare and care-giving in promoting dignity and well
being, while commending the partnership between AUST and PUSH Africa for providing practical,
career-focused training in an increasingly important field.

She also encouraged participants to explore other professional certification programmes offered
through the AUST CPD Unit at www.austcpd.com . She further announced that AUST is working
towards expanding its undergraduate programmes to include health-related ones such as
Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science, subject to the necessary institutional approval.

She welcomed the fourth cohort and wished them a successful and rewarding learning
experience.

AUST congratulates the graduating participants on their achievement and wishes them
