The Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria (MSN) has announced its 25th Annual International Conference known as the Nigerian International Materials Congress (NIMACON 2026), scheduled to take place from November 16 to 20, 2026. 

Organized in partnership with the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), the flagship event will be held at the AUST Conference Hall in Abuja.

This year’s congress is centered around the theme, “Materials for Energy, Security and Sustainable National Industrial Development” and the event serves as a critical gathering for researchers, industry professionals, and students to present advancements aimed at addressing national security and energy challenges through materials innovation. Key sub-themes guiding the submissions include chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) protection materials, circular economy solutions, energy materials for defense resilience, and emerging future security technologies.

Prominent figures slated for the event include Congress Chairman, Chief Kunle Ogunade, AUST President Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, and MSN President, Prof. Alafara A. Baba, alongside keynote speaker Prof. Jonathan M. Nwaedozie from the Nigerian Defence Academy.
