The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, has launched three Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes aimed at equipping participants with practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional networks required to thrive in today’s increasingly competitive and technology-driven world.
The programmes focus on Construction Management, Resource Mobilisation and Grant Writing, and Digital Content Creation, reflecting the University’s commitment to lifelong learning, professional excellence, and innovation.
In his welcome address, the President of AUST, Prof. Peter Azikiwe Onwualu, FAS, described the three programmes as strategically important and aligned with the University’s vision of expanding access to quality professional education through online learning and modern Learning Management Systems (LMS).
He emphasised that the initiatives are designed not only to enhance participants’ professional competencies but also to provide long-term value through alumni-style membership benefits and discounted access to future Continuing Professional Development programmes offered by the University.
Speaking at the launch, the Coordinator of AUST’s Continuing Professional Development Programme, Dr Prisca Onuoha, highlighted the numerous opportunities available to participants through the training.
According to her, the programmes will enable participants to expand their professional networks, develop practical skills in mobile videography and professional content editing, strengthen personal and organisational branding, and improve their capacity to access grants and other funding opportunities, particularly within the built environment sector.
She also encouraged greater collaboration among professionals in construction management, project management, and related disciplines, noting that the programmes provide an ideal platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and career advancement.
The hybrid launch attracted participants from across the country, with industry practitioners, academics, and professionals attending both physically and virtually to engage in the sessions.
The launch of the CPD programmes further reinforces AUST’s commitment to providing high-quality professional education that responds to industry needs while equipping individuals with the knowledge and practical skills required to drive innovation, sustainable development, and economic growth.
