ABUJA – Engr. Dr. Yetunde Aladeitan, FNSE, a distinguished alumnus of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, of the class of 2020, has been officially inaugurated as the National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Petroleum Engineers (NIPetE), which serves as a professional body dedicated to advancing petroleum engineering practice and fostering collaboration within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, alongside her newly elected executive team.

The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the petroleum engineering profession, with Dr. Aladeitan bringing a wealth of experience to the role.

She holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from AUST and has made impactful contributions to the field through over 15 published research works in high-impact journals, focusing on reservoir engineering, waterflood optimization, and carbon capture and storage. She has played critical roles in the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), serving as Technical Secretary of the Abuja Chapter from 2015 to 2017 and currently holding the position of National Technical Secretary. Her commitment to engineering education and sustainable development has earned her fellowships in both the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).

In a congratulatory message, the President of AUST, Engr. Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, commended Dr. Aladeitan on her elevation. He noted that her emergence as National Chairman of NIPetE is a testament to her dedication, technical excellence, and contributions to the engineering profession. Prof. Onwualu expressed confidence that under her leadership, the institution would continue to advance best practices in the oil and gas sector and foster greater industry collaboration.
