Transforming research into market-ready solutions took centre stage as the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, welcomed representatives of ADECLIN Clean Venture to discuss a strategic partnership on poultry feed production and commercialisation.

The meeting, held at AUST, featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and explored collaboration in poultry feed production, research commercialisation, regulatory compliance, and capacity building through the University’s AUST Inspire Innovation Hub.

Introducing the President, Professor. Peter Azikiwe Onwualu, FAS, Dr. Vitalis Anye, Dean of the School of Engineering, gave an overview of the proposed partnership, describing it as an important step towards strengthening innovation and industry collaboration.

Speaking on behalf of ADECLIN, the Managing Director, Mr. Agbor Christian, said the company was partnering with AUST because of the University’s strong reputation for innovation and research. He noted that ADECLIN had secured the necessary equipment, procured customised packaging materials, and was preparing for regulatory inspections ahead of the pilot production of poultry feed, with plans to expand into livestock feed and training programmes.

Responding, Professor Onwualu reaffirmed AUST’s commitment to translating research into commercially viable products that address societal challenges. He highlighted the University’s growing portfolio of innovations, patents, and pilot plant facilities, expressing confidence that the partnership would support sustainable livestock production, strengthen research commercialisation, and create opportunities for skills development.

Present at the meeting were Professor Peter Azikiwe Onwualu, FAS, President of AUST; Dr. Vitalis Anye, Dean, School of Engineering; and Ms. Blessing Iweha, Administrative Assistant, Media and Public Relations Unit. The ADECLIN delegation comprised Mr. Agbor Christian, Managing Director; Mr . Ayuh Emmanuel, Manager; and Mr. Kiliam Ntembe, Team Member.

The meeting concluded with both organisations reaffirming their commitment to implementing the partnership and advancing innovative solutions for Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
