Abuja, Nigeria – The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), a leading institution dedicated to advancing science, technology, and innovation in Africa, will celebrate the achievements of its Class of 2024 during its 10th Convocation Ceremony. The highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place over two days, showcasing academic excellence and the universitys commitment to developing world-class professionals.

The convocation activities will commence on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a Convocation Lecture delivered by Engr. Dr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi, PhD, DIC, FNSE, FNIHTE, the Director General and CEO of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA). Dr. Agbasi is expected to share insightful perspectives on infrastructural development and innovation in engineering, drawing from his extensive experience in public infrastructure management.

The main convocation ceremony will follow on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM, during which degrees will be conferred on graduates receiving PGD, MSc, PhD, and Honorary Doctorate degrees. The Commencement Address will be delivered by Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote, Director General and CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). Her leadership and contributions to national identity and digital transformation in Nigeria are highly regarded, and her address is expected to inspire the new graduates. There will be award of  Honorary degrees to deserving Nigerians including the Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria, Senator George Akume, Alhajo Kashmir Imam and others.

The university’s President, Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, will preside over the convocation, alongside members of the Board of Trustees, Senate, and other distinguished guests.

The events will take place at the AUST campus on Airport Road, Galadimawa, Abuja, Nigeria, with dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers in attendance to celebrate this significant milestone. More stories of the event will be published afterwards.
