Obianyo Joins Bello As Member Of The Nigerian Young Academy

The Nigerian Young Academy, a prestigious and topmost Academy for Young researchers in Nigeria, has inducted  Engr. Dr. Ifeyinwa Ijeoma Obianyo, former student and visiting Faculty at the Civil Engineering department of African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja  into the Academy. She joins Dr. Abdulhakeem Bello, the Director of Academic Planning, AUST who was inducted into the famous Academy in 2023.

Obianyo was inducted at the 14th International Conference and General Assembly of the Academy held at  the Biomedical Science Research and Training Center (BioRTC) Complex at the State University, Damaturu, Yobe State.

She has over 30 Quality  articles in top journals that are indexed in Scopus with H-Index of 15 and i10-index of 21 in Google scholar. She is a Reviewer of high ranking journals such as Case Studies in Construction Materials, Journal of Rehabilitation in Civil Engineering, International Journal of Sustainable Engineering, Scientific Reports and International Journal of Pavement Research and Technology.

She has continued to impact the society through research, teaching and mentorship. This is a huge feat and it is worth celebrating.

Dr Bello holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the Ahmadu Bello university Zaria Nigeria, an MSc in Materials Science from the African University of Science and Technology (AUST) and a PhD in Physics from the University of Pretoria South Africa.

He is currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Theoretical Physics. His research interests are in the field of electrochemical energy and he has more than 69 publications in highly revered international journals. It is noteworthy that Dr. Bello has the highest publications in AUST presently.

Apart from the induction of new members to the Academy, a workshop on the effects of plagiarism which was facilitated by Dr Abdulhakeem Bello took place where members of the  public, particularly postgraduate students and young researchers, were educated on  the detrimental consequences of plagiarism, the possibility of achieving academic excellence without resorting to plagiarism and also emphasized on the importance of avoiding all forms of plagiarism to attain academic greatness.

The African University of Science and Technology(AUST), Abuja felicitates with Dr. Bello and Dr. Obianyo on their research feats which earned them membership of this research oriented Academy and urged them not to relent.
