GLOBALTECH, AUST Marks Graduation Of Professional Diploma Students, Announce Scholarships

Abuja, Nigeria – September 6, 2025 – The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), in partnership with GlobalTech, hosted a grande graduation ceremony for participants who successfully completed the professional diploma programs in Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Digital Marketing, Data Analytics, Ethical Hacking, ICT/Systems Engineering, and the Tech 1Million initiative.
The event, which coincided with GlobalTech’s 25th Anniversary, brought together dignitaries, industry partners, faculty, and families to celebrate the achievements of the graduates.
Dr. Godwin Asogbon, President and Founder of GlobalTech, highlighted GlobalTech’s 25-year journey of driving technology education and youth empowerment across Nigeria and beyond.
He treasured the partnership with AUST, describing it as “a significant step toward building Africa’s next generation of tech innovators.”
Dr. Prisca Nneka Onuoha, Coordinator of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), who represented the AUST President, Professor Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, congratulated the graduates and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to providing world-class, Africa-focused STEM education.
She urged the graduates to join the AUST alumni network, so as to become ambassadors of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The day’s activities featured an exhibition and pitching session where the graduating trainees showcased innovative projects, including food-ordering apps, hotel-booking platforms, and data analytics solutions.
Testimonials from the graduates across multiple cohorts and regions, underscored the life-changing impact of the program.
Highly elated Dr. Asogbon, announced scholarships worth ₦500,000 each for 15 participants under the GlobalTech 1Million Initiative, reaffirming the organization’s dedication to youth empowerment and skill development.
Mr. Chimdalu Onwualu, representing the AUSTInspire Innovation Hub, encouraged the graduates to leverage on the hub’s entrepreneurship and incubation programs to transform their skills into scalable businesses.
The ceremony climaxed with the presentation of certificates and award recognition marking not just the graduation of a new cohort of tech professionals but also a renewed commitment to advancing STEM education and digital innovation in Africa.
