Dr. ASSIA MAHAMAT BAGS PRESTIGIOUS ISO LOMSO FELLOWSHIP AWARD
Dr. Assia Aboubakar Mahamat, a former student of the Materials Science and Engineering department and now Faculty at the Civil Engineering Department of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja has been awarded the prestigious Iso Lomso Fellowish award by the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Studies ( STIAS), South Africa. The fellowship award is to run from 2025 to 2027 (3years). Dr. Mahamat's groundbreaking research has made significant impacts, and this fellowship is a testament to her dedication and expertise. She bagged the lso Lomso Award based on her research work which focuses on AI-powered material optimization for an environmentally conscious construction industry. Her innovative approach has the potential to revolutionize the field, making it more sustainable and efficient. As an Iso Lomso Fellow, Dr. Mahamat will have the opportunity to pursue her research project at STIAS in South Africa and another institute of advanced study or university abroad of her choice within the period of the fellowship.
