AUST Signs MoU with Naphtali PM Group to Advance Professional Development and Research

Abuja, September 2025 — The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), through its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Unit, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Naphtali and Naphtali PM (PTY) Ltd, a South African-based organization, to strengthen capacity development, research, and innovation.
The signing ceremony, which took place at AUST’s campus in Galadimawa, Abuja, was witnessed by Prof. Peter Azikiwe Onwualu, President of AUST, and Dr. Prisca Nneka Onuoha, Coordinator of the CPD Unit, alongside representatives of Naphtali PM Group, Dr. Jerry Igwilo and Mrs. Ogenna Igwilo.
The agreement, which will run from 2025 to 2028, will see both institutions collaborate to establish certificate programs in professional development, research, and innovation under the Department of Public Policy. It will also support the development of executive education programs tailored to the needs of professionals, practitioners, and policymakers, as well as promote joint research, innovation, and commercialization projects. Both parties also agreed to share expertise and resources to ensure high-quality program delivery.
This partnership is aimed at bridging academic and industry knowledge, addressing skill gaps, and promoting knowledge transfer and innovation.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Onuoha noted that the collaboration reflects AUST’s commitment to equipping professionals across Africa with relevant, future-ready skills. Representatives of Naphtali PM Group, Dr. Jerry Igwilo and Mrs. Ogenna Igwilo, also expressed their enthusiasm to work with AUST in creating impactful executive programs that will contribute to professional growth and economic development.
The MoU will serve as a platform for sustainable academic-industry collaboration over the next three years.
