AUST'S DAP Receives Prestigious Admission into Nigeria Young Academy.
The Director of Academic Planning (DAP) and Assistant Professor in the Theoretical and Applied Physics department of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, Dr. Abdulhakeem Bello, has received a provisional admission into the highly revered Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) for the year 2023-2027.
In an award letter conveyed to him by the General Secretary of the body, Professor Charles Oluwaseun Adetunji, the AUST don emerged victorious out of a vast pool of exceptionally talented young academic applicants in Nigeria.
Dr. Bello came tops after undergoing a meticulous evaluation process that assessed his outstanding research capabilities and unwavering integrity. This remarkable achievement according to the letter is a testimony to his unwavering dedication and intellectual prowess in the world of science.
Accordingly, he has been invited to the 13th International Conference & General Assembly of the Academy, scheduled to take place at the Edo State University, Uzairue from August 15th to 18th, 2023.
During this epoch-making event, Dr. Bello will be officially inducted into the NYA and would have the opportunity to network with esteemed colleagues from various disciplines.
As part of his induction, he would be provided with comprehensive insights into the working dynamics of NYA and would be expected to deliver a captivating mini-inaugural presentation, showcasing his expertise and vision for the future.
Meanwhile, the Acting President of AUST, Professor Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, on behalf of the staff, management and students of the university has extended the university's congratulatory message to Dr. Bello on his admission into this notable body.
Onwualu described Dr. Bello, as a young, dynamic, resourceful and hardworking young scientist, whose research works had made tremendous impact in the world of science and engineering and wished him the best of luck as he gets inducted into NYA.
Dr. Abdulhakeem Bello holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria; Masters of Science in Materials and Engineering from the African University of Science and Technology Abuja, Nigeria; a Post Graduate Diploma in Materials Science from the International Centre for Material Science, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India and a doctorate degree in Physics from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
He specializes in Energy Materials, Carbon materials, Nano-materials, Super-capacitors, Microscopy, Batteries and presently teaching solid state physics, Structure and Materials Characterization, Electrical and optical properties of Materials etc at the African University of Science and Technology(AUST), Abuja.
He is married and the marriage is blessed with lovely children.
