AUST CPD Unveils new course on Content Creation, Social Media Management, and AI Video Automation.

The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), in collaboration with Abuja Reel Guy and AUST CPD (Continuing Professional Development), recently hosted a highly engaging one-hour webinar focused on empowering students and young professionals with practical skills in content creation, social media management, and AI-powered video automation. The session drew a diverse audience eager to learn, upskill, and explore opportunities to monetize their creative talents in the digital economy.

The webinar featured expert contributions from key speakers. Chidiebere Uchendu, the facilitator, highlighted creativity as a driving force for innovation, problem-solving, and professional growth. Dr. Prisca Onuoha, moderator and Head of the Continuing Prfessional Development(CPD) unit, emphasized the importance of discipline, consistency, and continuous learning as essential ingredients for building a successful career in the digital creative industry. The webinar host and president of the African University of Science and Technology(AUST), Abuja, Professor Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, underscored the program’s mission of producing industry-ready content creators and social media management capable of leveraging digital tools to thrive in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

A central highlight of the webinar was the introduction of “The Creator’s Shoe”, a three-day masterclass designed to immerse participants in the practical realities of content creation and social media management. The course equips learners with hands-on skills in camera work, video editing, color grading, lighting, audio enhancement, and social media strategies. Additionally, participants are trained to utilize AI tools to streamline content production and build an engaged online audience. The first two days of the program consist of intensive theoretical and practical sessions, culminating in a capstone creation day where learners produce a short cinematic video and present it alongside a social media strategy plan.

The course modules are meticulously structured to ensure professional growth. Topics include the foundations of cinematic content, advanced editing techniques, mastering color, lighting, and audio, social media management, AI integration, and personal branding. Participants are guided to develop confidence, build a unique personal brand, and acquire the skills necessary to launch a content creation career successfully.

The webinar recorded robust participation and engagement, reflecting a growing interest among students in developing digital competencies. Initiatives like this reinforce AUST’s commitment to nurturing creativity, equipping learners with industry-ready skills, and empowering them to turn knowledge into income-generating opportunities. Through programs such as “The Creator’s Shoe,” AUST continues to provide meaningful platforms for students and young professionals to explore, innovate, and excel in the digital creative economy.
