AUST - CISCO Academy Hosts Maiden Graduation Ceremony
 
            
The CISCO academy at the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, held it's first graduation ceremony for  the CISCO Certificate Program.
The event which took place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the university's auditorium marked the successful completion of an intensive training designed to equip participants with advanced skills in computer networking and information technology.
In his goodwill message, the President of AUST, Professor Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, congratulated the graduating students on the successful completion of their program.
He lauded their dedication to continuous learning and reminded them that true professional growth goes beyond acquiring certificates.
According to him "Building personal value, maintaining integrity, and continuously developing oneself are key to long-term success,” Prof. Onwualu stressed.
He also encouraged participants to pursue stable and sustainable sources of income as a means of contributing meaningfully to national development as well as maintain integrity, choose the right associations, and consistently strive for excellence.
In her opening address, Dr. Prisca Nneka Onuoha, Coordinator, CPD, welcomed participants, facilitators, and guests, commending the learners many of whom are also AUST students for their commitment and enthusiasm throughout the program.
She charged the participants to share their experiences, feedback, and challenges encountered during the training, while also reflecting on the impact of the program on their personal and professional growth.
Dr. Onuoha informed all that attended that the second cohort of the CISCOM Academy program will commence next month.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates of proficiency to successful participants, symbolizing the culmination of weeks of rigorous training.
Smiles and applause filled the hall as participants received their certificates, celebrating their dedication and hard work.
The event also featured tributes to Mr. Adejo John, the Chief Facilitator of the CISCO Program at AUST, and Mrs. Hadiza Isa Abdullahi, one of the program facilitators, for their guidance and contribution to the program’s success.
The CISCO Program reinforces AUST’s commitment to promoting professional excellence and advancing digital competency within and beyond the university community.
