AGriDL Team Visits African University Of Science And Technology, Expresses Delight over the Spate Of Development.
The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja recently paid host to a high-powered delegation from the AgriDL/Icipe project.
Receiving the visiting team, the President of AUST, Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, thanked the team for choosing AUST for their field visit.
He outlined the university’s rich history, its academic programs, and its future plans. He emphasized on AUST’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
Onwualu intimated the visitors on the university’s strong partnerships with various industries and government agencies,the numerous funded projects, and the establishment of Centers of Excellence.
According to him, “We designed and built the AUSTinspire, an innovation hub to nurture creativity, entrepreneurship, and groundbreaking ideas to our students, staff and members of the public to prepare them ahead of the market in future and our university is ever ready for more collaborations with the AgriDL/Icipe” he enthused.
In his response, the head of the visiting team, Dr. A. Ecuru, thanked the AUST President for the warm reception accorded him and his team since their arrival at the university.
He stated that AUST was chosen for the field visit to assess the progress of work made by the university in relation to the AGRiDL/Icipe and PASET projects.
Dr. Ecuru reassured the AUST’s President of the determination of the body to continue partnering with the university and charged the university to continue the good works they have been doing especially in the areas of research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The visiting team were later conducted round the facilities at the AUSTinspire Innovation Incubation Hub, the ultra modern AfDB laboratories, School of Computing, School of Engineering and the CADA hub.
